Abigail Behrens is a Murrells Inlet local. She is a 17 year old artist who attends The Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology, as an advanced art major. She knew she had a passion for art from a very young age. She began taking lessons at age 9, which eventually sparked a huge interest in painting. Abigail has taken several lessons from artists around the Grand Strand to develop the fundamentals needed for successful works of art. Along the way, she has also adapted her own style, focusing a lot on portraiture, cityscapes, and the New York City theme. Abigail is also an accomplished pianist and vocalist. The arts have come rather naturally to her from a very young age, and it is her privilege to share her works with people. Her work has been recognized not only on the Sasee Magazine January issue, but also in various state competitions (The South Carolina State Fair and ArtFields in Lake City) and the Burroughs and Chapin Museum.
